What is a Checklist? 

Okay, coach! I know you want to help your teachers, which is amazing! But let's talk for a second about the definition of "help." 

I always ask instructional leaders, "If you win the lottery tomorrow and 'duece' out, what will the teachers you coach do without your support?" 

We must grow independence in those we work alongside, and one of the best ways to do that is to provide them with strategies to strengthen their craft. 

Checklists are a great tool to do just that! Explain the strategy, model the strategy, and leave teachers with a checklist to implement the strategy independently. 

Each month, I will include 3 new checklists to build up your toolbox and HELP lead teachers to independent implementation!
